THIS 4 part SERIES’S innerCircle Topic for e-Satsang has been: Purusha – Prakriti in the Yoga Sutra. inter-dependant, inter-dimensional, trans-muted, trans-gendered.
This week we tie the whole discourse together since covering 1/3 of Patanjali’s Metaphysical Schematic (approx 22 out of 66 pgs per week).
Week 1 : explored the vocabulary and its nuances between the Yog Vedant v Samkhya Darshana-s (perspectives of Yogic schools of thought) and found that they are quite compatible in this regard.
Week 2: took a look at how each sees the roles of Purusha & Prakriti, how they together form Consciousness as we know it.
Week 3: discovered that the gender roles of Purusha & Prakriti are not as binary as they seem. Their roles shift just as our own human gender is fluid to some extent (some more than others). This is the basis for Advaita Vedanta Yoga & it is supported by Samkhya Karikas.
Week 4: re-cap, Q&A, what to explore in Consciousness from here.
Let’s take a look at a comparison of the 2 different perseptions, both are using the same vocabulary and to talk about the concepts from different approaches. Purusha & Prakriti are expressed by :
- SAMKHYA KARIKAS • YOGA SUTRAS
- numbers • ideals
- physical attributes • human conditions
- pure philosophy • methodologies, elements of philosophy
- Causastion • Realization
- duality, plurality • Advaitic non-duality
- out of our control • self-control, will power
- evolution • involution
- descent • ascent
- Nature • Nurture
- Creation • return to Source, re-creation
Like a Cosmic Couple, Purusha & Prakriti share or blur attributes or qualities of each other from time to time, though they each have their own distinct function & purpose. In the esoteric sense, they are 2 sides of the same coin. Ultimately, they are parts of the unified Parabrahman.
Where Samhkya Karikas leaves off, Yoga Sutras picks up. Samkhya sets the framework, how humans descended from Source. Yoga Sutras elaborates on the ways & means to return to Source. Yoga Sutras gives the human a ways & means towards this in a highly personalized praxis. Samkhya sets forth a map that can be reversed as the “return route”.
Question was raised, where does Tantra fit in this? Tantra is a school of Yoga. Tan + tra, literally translated as elemental + training. Training equates to Method. Like all Yoga, Tantra consists of techniques, technologies, methods toward expansion of the Self. Elaboration towards Liberation. Tantra is a form of Yoga, as its syllables are integral to the definition of Yoga itself. What makes Tantra its own division in Yoga, is that it is limited to a fully physical goal oriented approach. Through the Universal elements MahaBhuta-s (aka Tattvas), all types of Yoga attempt to control the 5 Tanmatra-s (specific measurable, individual elemental sense functions).
Specifically, Yoga teaches us to transcend those bodily bound functions to merge with Universal Matrix. Tantra focuses more on staying in the sense sensations of the body. Perhaps this is how the small part of Tantra that teaches sexual yoga became so overwhelmingly what the public thinks Tantra is all about. Magnifying sensations, rather than the Yogic 5th limb Pratyahara, withdrawl of the senses which is the middle and key link to the 3 Meditation steps which are the highest forms of Union. Those drawn to Tantra often seem to be looking for how to hack the method in reverse, utilizing the Tanmatras to influence the MahaBhutas – the matrix that connects all Beings.
Black or Kali Tantra comes into play if we try to control the energies in, of and around other beings, which is considered an abuse of Yogic practice to control or harm others for one’s own self-ish desires.
In contrast, the full expression of the intent of Yoga is to BE one with Nature, improving the quality of life for all beings by our respect towards all Nature. Self-control is balancing our measures of elements and gunas to create Unity with Nature as it is, inside ourself. We don’t do Yoga to control others, we do it for self-control. We don’t even do Yoga to get better at DOing Yoga, we do Yoga to get better at BEing alive.
Some schools of Samkhya start with the 2, presuming the Godhead but making no mention. Original Samkhya clearly sets out the premise that there is one unified source, Parabrahman, which contains all of the procession of the Samkhya flow-chart. Yoga Sutras has a clear ideal that Realization of Cosmic Unification is its Purpose.

30 July – 2 August, 2020 : Thursday e-Libary topic is blogged / then… Sunday e-Satsang is LIVE : PART 3: continuing last week’s discourse which is below this one – scroll down on this same page. (this is a 4 part series)
༺🔥༻ skip to the bottom of : WEEK 1 : for links to read Yoga Sutras of Patanjali online or get your own hard copy by any of the respectable commentators & translators. No need to purchase the adjunct book we are using here. It is a rare & costly commentary, the key pages here, as if you are checking out the book from Swamiji’s Library. ༺🔥༻
The First Week of opening this book, we established the connection between the 2 texts (Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Samkhya Karikas) and the main 2 terms of what we are discussing. (Prakriti & Purusha).
Week 2, we dove into the cross-references and deeper meanings of key Vedic Sanskrit terminology and how that meshes with Purusha & Prakriti. They are slightly differing perspectives by various schools (called Darshana-s meaning ‘views/ point of views’) including the 2 studied here, Yoga Vedant & Samkhya.
This Week, the lens is wider and completes the circle of traditions shared between Samkhya Karikas & Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, key texts for the Samkhya and Yog Vedant Darshana Schools, respectively.
By Patanjali, we can see Prakriti in reference to the Self rather than to the Cosmological Prakriti encomassing all Creation as Samkhya is concerned with – the totality of All. In this macro-micro mirror, we can see that our human Self as part of All-That-Is / Creation not separate from it.

A QUICK SUMMARY OF PRAKRITI:
We are offered this unique perspective of the 2 schools side by side comparing Prakriti in the sense of how each defines the Nature of Being.
By studying the language, one can see the only difference is in choice of labels to define the unmanifest.
Most notably SHODASHI – the sixteen ‘end results’ which are the basis of SriVidya School in reverence to MahaShakti in all her forms, most depicted as a 16 year old Kumara, untouched beauty, containing all the seeds of the unmanifest and unknown, capable of everything, doing everything and controlling the outcomes of everything. She has 10 MahaVidya forms.

We start off with mention of the 3 Gunas: Sattva, Rajas, Tamas, and the 6 spoked Wheel of Samskara: virtue & nonvirture, pleasure & pain, attachment & aversion are the 3 pairs of the spokes of the wheel. Avidya (ignorance) is the driver of this wheel. Avidya is the cause of all 5 of the Kleshas (afflictions of the mind): Avidya (ignorance), Asmita (egoism), Raga (attachment), Dvesa (aversion or hatred), and Abinivesah (clinging to life and fear of death). These are the root of all suffering, Dukha.
Let’s just take a look at some key words from the above which is a whole lesson of itself within the Yoga Sutras Series that i will be teaching soon.
SAMSKARA: Patterns that drive our life into the ground, as a faulty wheel or a warped vinyl record, having faulty impressions, repeating the same mistakes. Envisioned as a 6 spoked wheel, its driver is Avidya (ignorance), the root of all Dukha (suffering). Virtue & nonvirture, pleasure & pain, attachment & aversion.
DUKHA: Suffering. An apt choice of language to describe the Wheel of Samskara. Composed of “dus” (difficult, bad, doing wrong) + “kha” (axle, hole, cavity, cave, space). Ignorance of the True Self – Avidya – is the cause of all Dukha.

The author asks: ( i paraphrase) are we doomed to lead an imperfect existence full of pitfalls and self-inflicted problems? The Yogi is the one who takes control of driving the wheel and steers it to a finer and more comfortable course by replacing Avidya (conflict & confusion of normal samskarik life) with Vidya (conscious, aware, non-afflicted, identity & activity). Driving on this Path will lead to an embodied freedom, again our highest aim, as Moksha, Nirvana, Kaivalya, Samadhi.

Both Samkhya & Yoga Sutra define Purusha as the ‘witness’ of Prakriti & the 3 Guna-s. The Sanskrit term for witness is DRASTR, the seer of all mental content, or psycho-mental experiences, the knower of all mental processes or modifications (vritti) of the mind (chitta). Purusha is the Authentic Self-hood and its ‘gender’ is a grammatical construct, since it is unmanifest and non-gendered in the sense that we ‘see’ gender in our material world. Prakriti as a term functions in the same sense.
SECRET: these dual terms are used inter-changeably througout Advaitic teachings. This masculine word meaning the Seer or Self, Pure Consciousness, is interchangable with the feminine words for Shakti, power, energy force. There is citi (conscioiusness) and citishakti (power of consciousness), the power behind drshi (sight, seeing) aka drsh-shakti (the power of the seer).
The seeable is, in itself, lacking self-luminosity or chaitanya (consciousness). Such as a dead body.
What we know as the material world, is credited to the SAMYOG (conjuction) between the seer (Purusha/ drsh) and the seeable (Prakriti/drshya).

“Everything in the material world is born to decay and die. Life is imperfect, but wonderous. It is full of inherent suffering because it is wonderful yet paradoxially impermanent. The realization that we are Eternal Beings in human vehicles, the transforming of dukha (suffering) to sukha (happiness) is the practice of the Yogi.“
– Notes from Niradhara amma

The study of how Patanjali employs Ishvara as a terminology is worthy of a few moments reflection here.
Ishvara as passive, formless, transcendent Teacher, an archtypical Yogi who guides by mere presence or sheer being-ness. The author anecdotaly quotes this as a ‘metaphysical symphony’ between the spiritual essence of the aspiring Yogi and Ishvara, pure essence of pure consciousness.
Patanjali makes is useful for us to think of Ishvara as not absolutely identical to Purusha. By this slight re-positioning, we have the advantage perspective that allows us ishvara-pranidhan (devotion to the Master), and Grace of the Guru – Gurukripa (Gurudevo Maheshwara). These are but 2 of exquisite portals to Transcendental Bliss – SamYog or unity with Cosmic Unity.
The Hindu perspective takes this for granted, that Purusha/ Parabrahman takes on infinte number of forms so as to relate and unite with individuals and idiosyncratic groups of individuals in the most effective ways. Though we were certainly created from Their Divine Blueprint, the gods find a way to mirror us so that we can recognize not only Them but ourselves in Them and Them in ourselves, and ultimately with all Beings. This is the practice of Advaita Vedant Yog.

The paradox discussed at the close of this book leaves more room for discussion next week in a wrap-up overview talk. Q & A welcome.
Ordinary consciousness is samyoga (conjunct) between the seer and the seen. Pure Consciousness & Personhood. Purusha & Prakriti. That connection is made possible to link our material self to the Higher Self when the mind is transparent enough to reflect this Pure Light of Consciousness onto the sublest waves of Prakriti resting in Sattvik Guna – a transparent, still state of being.
The human mind is born into a mistaken identity. From birth we are conditioned to conform to our given human parameters. Purusha is both aware of its transcendental nature as the seer and yet is ‘seemingly entrapped’ in Prakriti, where humans experience themselves as finite entities by conforming to nature of the vritti (modifications) of the chitta (mind) and of Sanatana Dharm (the Laws of Nature – a topic for another talk). I hope one and all will join the e-Satsang. see you on Sunday.

The first week of opening this book, we established the connection between the 2 texts and the terms of what we are discussing. This week we dive into the cross-references and deeper meanings of Purusha & Prakriti as they are viewed at slightly differing perspectives by various schools (called Darshana-s meaning ‘views/ point of views’) including the 2 studied here, Yoga Vedant & Samkhya.
[AUM… ]
we begin today with some Sanskrit vocabulary of very different but similar looking words:
PRASAVA : root derived from early Vedic description of “pressing” the Soma; in general, a “setting in motion, current of energy, impulse, impetus”; “stimulation, instigation”; “begetting, generation, conception, bringing forth, bearing, birthing, delivery”, sometimes referring to the “birth-place” or “offspring, progeny” itself.
PRATIPRASAVA : while it has a common meaning of “antagonism”, in spiritual verse it is meant as counter-order, suspension or dissolution of time & space as we know it, returning to original state to be re-created in a more relevant form. it does not describe the end of the universe. Instead, it is a personal transcendent experience in which the mind, by ending its mis-identification as matter, is resolved or returns to its origin — the unmanifest Prakriti.
SARGA : (noun) literally, a deluge, flood, stream, gush, rush, downpour (of any fluid be it water or soma or the ‘water’ from birthing mixed with blood, etc); from the Puranic period literature in the Agni Purana, Creation has 9 stages called Sarga-s divided into categories: *** SEE THE END OF WEEK 2 FOR MORE DEPTH. Sarga may also be one of the sons of Ākāśa; one of the five sections of the Purāṇa; dealing with creation of the universe; and a general term for the different kinds of Prākṛta; the voice of Brahmā.
PRASARGA : (verb) Pouring out or flowing forth, an emission, discharge, ejaculation, invocation, surge of Pure Energy, used relative to the term above Sarga.
APAVARGA : completion, end, the emancipation of the soul from bodily existence, exempt from further transmigration, final beatitude, emancipation or liberation from the cycles of life & death; a non-dogmatic term re: Moksha, Nirvana, Kaivalyam, Samadhi – according to the YS one may achieve this while still in human form..
let’s read a few choice pages:

In the Yoga Sutra Chapter 2 Sadhana Pada, verses 3-17 we are quoted on page 25, Patanjali describes Prakriti along with the good bad and ugly – the ahamkara, the gunas, kleshas and all. This. we are advised to notice is not all negative-talk. Prakriti, like money or other worldly energies, is not necessarily ‘good’ or ‘bad’. they are just ‘energies’. it is how we choose to play our our Karma, our reactions that matter. example: how we spend our money (distribute our energy) for upliftment of struggling populations in the world or to shop til we drop? to support sustainable agriculture, local businesses, renewable energy or the fossil fuels & the factory farming model? we may also examine actions: do we act out of ignorance, carelessness or do we consciously learn and choose with awareness, how we want to interact in the world?
page 26 -7 offers a gem: a look at Yoga Sutras, chapter 2 verse 19 through the Samkhya lens. the author backs it up with the tattva-centric view of Yoga Bhyasa by Vedavyas. This worth a study and meditation in itself. Our Live talk will center around this.
As we continue our journey into this amazing little book, the ability to cross-reference Darshana-s from their various perspectives can develop a holistic approach which, as an Advaitic teacher myself, sharpens our eye to see the connections of all views as One.

page 41 brings us the word SAMSKARA often tossed around in western yoga circles. Shree used to say that our samskaras-s are to him like diamonds in the rough. By the 5-Fold Path, including Agnihotra sadhana, kindness & generosity, meditation & self-discipline, plenty of karma yoga & self-inquiry/study, he will help us polish these undesirable patte(see page 42rns & flaws into valuable jewels. the author employs the Judeo-Christian analogy of the potter’s wheel.
Patanjali describes a farming parable in chapter 4 Samadhi, verse 3. (see page 42 above as quoted from Vyasa’s commentary of Patanjali).
an interesting concept on page 43, for a western mind to wrap around, is that purposefulness is a temporal condition. it is a tool to use towards Karmic relief, has countless character-building benefits such as removing Samskaras but character itself is not to be identified as the Self. nor is the purpose (your purpose in Life) to be equated with the True Self.
Purusha is causeless and purposeless. Virtue removes virtuouslessness and leads one on the Right Path of Liberation, however, neither of these judgements nor their actions, belong to Purusha. You, yourself own them.
*** from above, developing the philosophy of SARGA : (noun) literally, a deluge, flood, stream, gush, rush, downpour (of any fluid); from the Puranic period literature in the Agni Purana, Creation has 9 stages called Sarga-s divided into categories: There are “5 Vaikṛtasargas” : 1. that of greatness, Mahatva i e. Brahmā which is nitya (eternal). 2. the tanmātras called Bhūtasarga which are naimittika (casual) and. 3. Vaikārikasarga also called Aindriyikasarga meaning dainandina (daily/ everyday common). These three kinds of creation are sub-categorized as Prākṛta-sṛṣṭi (natural conscious and intelligent creation). 4. is Mukhyasarga, ie: immovables. 5. Tiryagyonisṛṣṭi functioning paralleled to creation it is known as Tiryaksrotas. and then we continue with “3 Prākṛtasargas”: 6. the creation of Ūrdhvasrotas, aka Devasarga (Effulgent Light). 7. the creation of Arvāksrotas, called Mānuṣasarga (Inherent Wisdom from beyond time & space). 8. Anugrahasarga, is Divine Grace. The 9th sarga is Kaumāra-sarga, which is catagorized as both Vaikṛta and Prākṛta. The foundational root cause of the universe is the above 9 creations of Brahmā. Nityasarga is the creation after interim deluges so this could be termed as re-Creation, after the Flood.
in this order of creation, Puruṣa with the aid of Pradhāna and Kṣetrajña (aspects of Prakriti) generated Mahat-tatva out of which was born ahamkāra – “personhood”; engaged further in creation, the Creator produced śabdatanmātṛkam (the rudiment of sound, the primordial sound AUM) from which was produced, ākāśa (ether); invested with śabda or sound; then was created Vāyu, the rudiment of touch; fire invested with the rudiment of rūpa or form; waters, the rudiment of taste; and lastly an aggregate of all this (earth), of which smell is invested. those rudimental elements are designated aviśeṣas (devoid of qualities) pure elemental essences. from ahamkāra (persona) containing all these essences, are produced the ten organs of sense and the ten divinities along with the eleventh, mind. the result of their compound is the form of an egg-like aṇḍa, a figure created in the form of the Creator. its womb being the cental island/mountain Meru and its water being the oceans containing all Loka-s (worlds/ dimensions) which Gods and humankind inhabit, surrounded outside by seven envelopes or Koshas made of elements of fire, water etc.; first was one of darkness of five Parvas: darkness, illusion, blindness, ignorance, and of no light; three prākṛta sargas—mahata, bhūta, and aindriyaka; three Vaikṛta sargas—mukhya sarga, tairyakyoni, deva sarga arvāksrotasa and anugraha sarga; the ninth sarga was named kaumāra; then came the creation of devās, asuras, pitṛs and men.

: WEEK ONE :
16-19 July 2020 : Thursday e-Libary topic is blogged / Sunday e-Satsang is LIVE : PART 1: The choice to start here was an easy one. Start at the beginning. Many of you may already have a copy of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras with commentary by your favorite Teacher. If you are not ready to invest in a copy, this is a Text which is easily found online to read freely in Sanskrit, with many language choices for translations, just do a quick google search.
It is my objective to get everyone included here, with or without a financial requirement.
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is 4 chapters of simple Aphorisms called ‘Sutras’, each like a short simple stitch in a long thread of thought – the ancestor to social media threads. Simple verses, but it is far from an easy text to study in depth. Each stitch shows some thread on top but there is equally an amount of thread hidden below the surface. This space between the Sutras is what we are after. It can be a life-long study – in that sense it is like a Bible of Yoga. It is regularly referenced in most any Yoga courses.
At my bedside, where I read snips of it often for Meditating or sleeping on, I have had a copy of Shri Brahmananda’s Textbook of Yoga Psychology (Teacher/Advanced commentaries on Yoga Sutras of Patanjali) at arm’s reach for almost 20 years. For those who want the Aphorisms (Sutras) in bite size form, (just the Sanskrit with English translations – no commentary), THIS companion/ student copy, DVD & CD (temp out of stock), as well as the above mentioned Advanced Teacher manual are all on the Ananda Ashram Store site. highly recommended! I have provided time-saving links to some of the other leading contemporary and classical commentaries on Yoga Sutras of Patanjali at the end of this blog post and HERE.

ATHA YOGA ANUSHASANAM
— yoga sutras of patanjali ch 1 : v 1
Now…. the teachings of Yoga begin….
Whether you have never heard of Yoga Sutras before, or whether you have a well-read copy on your shelf, I promise this Guru-offering from SwArA Library & SUNDAY’S e-Satsang will give you something FRESH. I will be introducing Yoga Sutras of Patanjali through the lens of commentator Ian Whicher’s rare book from The Theosophical Society of Chennai c.(first edition)2001 : Patanjali’s Metaphysical Schematic.
This is a separate commentary book about the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali that intersects the teachings of Samkhya Philosophy. This is a RARE book from Swami-ji’s amazing collection. Hold on to your seats~

After linking it HERE, I realize I ‘must’ do an update of the replacement values of our books. It is RARE & costly!
No need to buy this, (unless you collect rare books) because we are studying together from here, and the Yoga Sutras itself is the main study-text that it refers to. I will provide photos of key pages. This little Library blog & e-Satsang combo, over the next 4 weeks, will be your free or very low cost ticket to studying this $1000. GEM with its unique insights up-close. I will section it into 3 parts or 20-something pages each and the 4th week will be a re-cap putting it all together.
There are 66 pages not inclusive of its short Preface &extensive additional 24 pages of Bibliography & Notes. Let’s dive right in.
The discussion of Yoga Sutras v. Samkhya generally distills down to ” Dualism v. Non-dualism”. Dvait v. Advait. It is encoded in the teachings of Veda v. Vedantic (what is contained in written wisdom and outer forms v. that which transcends the very words of which the book was written). Yoga Sutras is of the latter. At the end of the 196 sutras, Sage Patanjali advises to put down the book and begin your sadhana. Live it. Be it.
The Samkhya Tradition charts the Binary World as we know it – how we descend into it and transcend out of the planes of opposition towards union with Source Energy.
In Yoga, the dualism is clearly addressed as Hatha Yoga, working with the body-mind vehicle to transcend it and remember our True Nature as One with Source. Ha-Tha being the essence of duality itself (sun-moon, yang-yin) and Yoga literally meaning ‘the union of’ those dual natures. Yoga is by definition of the non-dual Advaitic Tradition. The foundational Sanskrit Vocabulary for today: (other terms are more clearly explained by the chart but we can discuss in the LIVE session.)
PURUSHA : a Sanskrit term which is used in various levels of meaning including : “spirit, person, man/human” in common parlience, “self or consciousness” in Indian philosophy. In Samkhya it means the “principle of Great Spirit or Pure Absolute Consciousness”.
PRAKRITI : Sanskrit meaning “the principle of Nature,” or “Source” in the Samkhya system. material nature in its germinal state, eternal and beyond our perception. Prakriti is made up of three gunas (qualities of matter), which are the constituent cosmic factors that characterize all nature / the natural world and indeed the entire universe as we know it.
PARABRAHMAN : not seen on this version of the Samkhya chart but nonetheless integral to know about. sometimes simply said as “Brahman” this is the Supreme Absolute Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent, non-dual (Advait) God. whereas Purusha & Prakriti are united.

Here we have an example of a Samkhya Schematic alluded to in the Title of this book. Take a moment to really study it.
Here you see a MAP. All these sacred books are Maps. Sure is good to have a plan, a route, we like to get the recommendations of those who have ‘been there’ before us. Books can tell you about the Journey, but they are not the Journey. The Territory is INSIDE YOU. We LOVE books! however… The Journey begins when you close the Book.

Purusha & Prakriti : the crux of the terms employed by Patanjali in vague reference as if we would already know how to fill in the blank spaces where the Sutra stitches go under the fabric. Perhaps entire Schools of Thought such as Samkhya develop in the Space Between other Thoughts. The Sutras, like the Samkhya Schematic, leave space for our own interpretations – and words are in themselves part of the dualistic dilemna. What lay between the terse aphorisms of Patanjali is where we look to glean the Gold.
But to speak with each other, we must use our words. Clumsy and often less than perfect descriptives that attempt to name the un-namable. At best we can hope for poetry. Knowing that liminal space is there, Meditation on the Silence between us til Sunday e-Satsang will bring more clarity from this springboard of concepts.

PRAKRITI : TRANSITIONAL MATRIX : SHE IS THE UNBORN, THE BIRTHER & THE BIRTHED. She is all this simultaneously. She is Tripurasundari. The Triple Goddess. Maiden, Mother & Crone. The Seeing, the Seer & the Seen. She is the Soil, the Seed & the Sprout. She makes nice fodder for Meditation.

She is TRANSITIONAL, TRANSITORY & TRANSFORMATIVE. WOW. The Divine Feminine is BUSY. Page 17 gives us this: She is:
- the Doctrine of the Laws of Nature 2. Doctrine of the Division of Time 3. Doctrine of Impermanence, Temporality, Decay —- Divine Mother is GORGEOUS! and like Mothers i am sure we all know, She does all the WORK.

PURUSHA : THE PURE BEING-NESS – FORMLESS – AS WELL AS BEING PURE EXPERIENCE, THE RESULT OF ACTION WHICH IS IMPRINTED IN THE AKASH, YET ITSELF IS ACTIONLESS. This is not to be confused with the experience of the experiencer.
Bhoga is experiences. a Bhogi, one who gets-off on accomplishments, the thrills & sensations of outer experiences devoid of the inner work. IG visual aid: Yogini in bikini holding dancer pose on a mountaintop with the sunset on her fingertips. Think of all the outer machinations it took to get that shot. Yogi? Bhogi. THAT is applauded by showers of ❤ ‘s while a Yogi doing the innerWork is not even thinking of cameras and social media at all. It doesn’t get seen by or shared with anyone else.

Patanjali leads us through the mechanisms of Prakriti that are the 3 Gunas and how Kleshas form from their various inequities.
She is wildly creative yet precise. What is effect (or result) is already inherent in the cause. There is nothing out of Her control, Her vision is behind the artistry in Mathematics, Sacred Geometry, the Shree Yantra, the Fibonacci sequence, the Golden Means. From the peak of Mt Kailash to the eyelashes of gnats – exquisitely proportioned by Prakriti.
Remember she is the One whose blink of an eye is the creation and dissolutionment of all that we know, have known and will every know. She lives outside of Time & Space. Yet she embodies it.
Purusha & Prakriti are 2 sides of the same coin. Every Being contains both Energies and these 2 Energies are the incubator of all Beings.
We can imagine Purusha as Light and Prakriti as Sound – the Primoridal Sound of AUM (a study on Mandukyopanishad for another day). All form is created of Sound waves, even Light is created by Sound – sonoluminescence.
For our LIVE e-Satsang, I will quote and quaff about this book’s commentary – Patanjali’s Metaphysical Schematic meaning the Samkhya Philosophy’s Prakriti & Purusha. I will be referring to the Samkhya Schematic on this page and verses from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
I look forward to SwAr Ashram’s innerCircle forming from this great interSpace void called the world wide web. Prakriti is Herself the 8-armed Mahadevi – spiderlike. She incessently weaves the Matrix by her very Breath. And here we are… meet you on the web. 19 July, 2020 6:30pm IST mark your world clock for Mumbai or Chennai or any India time – or consult the TIME CONVERTER.
